About the Role

Working with First Peoples is an exciting opportunity to progress the Victorian Government's nation-leading work in Aboriginal affairs. This role will contribute to ground-breaking projects in truth, treaty, self-determination, and cultural rights.

As a Heritage Coordinator, you will support the administration of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 by maintaining the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Register (VAHR). You will engage with communities, government, and industry to improve standards for recording and registering Aboriginal cultural heritage places on the VAHR.

  • Building partnerships across communities, government, and industry to improve standards for recording and registering Aboriginal cultural heritage places
Required Skills and Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in archaeology, anthropology, or cultural heritage management, or equivalent experience, is essential. You will require strong project management, planning, and organisational skills, as well as excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience in preparing complex documentation, are necessary. A high degree of emotional and cultural intelligence is also required.
