Job Title: Cultural Heritage SpecialistWe are seeking a highly skilled Cultural Heritage Specialist to join our team in Melbourne.

The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating and leading the delivery of cultural heritage management plans, including field surveys, test excavations, and reporting.

They will also possess excellent research and site analysis skills, as well as strong writing and reporting abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating, leading and supporting the delivery of Victorian Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plans
  • Supervising and conducting heritage and significance assessments
  • Managing project portfolios and preparing proposals for key clients
  • Ownership and responsibility for independently writing heritage reports and assessments
  • Providing leadership and support for other archaeologists

The role will work collaboratively with a range of disciplines within Jacobs, clients, and stakeholders, including Traditional Owners and Registered Aboriginal Parties.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and relevant guidelines.

Requirements:
  • Victorian Registered Heritage Advisor with qualifications and experience
  • Honours or postgraduate degree in a relevant subject
  • Consulting experience, with a focus on Aboriginal heritage in Victoria
  • Experience leading Cultural Heritage Management Plans
  • Applied knowledge of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation
  • Excellent research and site analysis skills
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage heritage projects in a timely manner
