Senior Database Administrator Job

As a seasoned database administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the institution's ICT databases for high availability and reliability. This role requires technical expertise in specifying functional, technical, and system design requirements to meet business needs.

You will lead planning and implementation of service continuity measures to meet business goals during faults or incidents. Additionally, you will protect the integrity of ICT databases, servers, and services by managing access, monitoring security developments, and acting on vendor guidance.

This position is ideal for an individual with extensive experience in enterprise-class Oracle RAC, AWS, and Microsoft, including capacity management. You should also have proven experience in large-scale production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership in specifying functional, technical, and system design requirements to meet business needs.
  • Database Management: Ensure high availability and performance of centrally managed ICT databases and services; diagnose complex issues, tune performance, and liaise with ICT vendors as required.
  • Service Continuity: Lead planning and implementation of service continuity measures to meet business goals during faults or incidents.
  • Security: Protect the integrity of ICT databases, servers, and services by managing access, monitoring security developments, and acting on vendor guidance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Extensive experience with enterprise-class Oracle RAC, AWS, and Microsoft, including capacity management.
  • Production Environment: Proven experience in large-scale production environments.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and project management experience.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor team members.
