We're looking for a skilled Database System Specialist to support, maintain and operate database systems within our Solution Delivery division. This role suits someone who enjoys varied responsibilities, working across multiple service streams and collaborating with like-minded people.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implementation and maintenance of production database clusters and test environments
  2. High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies
  3. Database monitoring
  4. Providing professional services to internal stakeholders and customers
  5. Responding to and resolving database incidents and problems
  6. Creation and maintenance of internal documentation, including the operational knowledge base
  7. Suggesting improvements to working practices
  8. Mentorship of other staff
  9. Excellent organisational and communication skills
  10. Working knowledge of ITIL concepts
  11. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of teams and individuals

Desirable qualifications:

  1. ITIL qualification
  2. Degree level qualification
  3. Oracle, MSSQL certifications
  4. Apache Cassandra qualification or professional training
  5. Microsoft SQL Server experience
  6. Significant experience with OracleDB and Apache Cassandra
  7. Oracle GoldenGate, Active Data Guard, Oracle RAC experience
  8. Change and ITIL management experience and/or certification
