We are seeking a skilled Homelessness Support Specialist to join our team based in Hervey Bay. In this critical role, you will play a key part in delivering comprehensive support services to individuals and families facing housing instability. Our Emergency Housing team provides holistic, person-centred care, empowering clients to regain stability and independence.

As a Homelessness Support Specialist, you will work closely with real estate professionals, community organisations, and government agencies to ensure seamless service delivery. Your expertise in case management and crisis intervention will be invaluable in supporting vulnerable populations. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to policy development and program evaluation, shaping the future of homelessness services in Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised case plans
  • Monitor and adjust case plans in line with client progress and evolving needs
  • Provide immediate crisis support and connect clients with relevant external services
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve housing outcomes
  • Manage a portfolio of residential properties, including inspections and tenancy transitions
  • Deliver coordinated, wraparound services to support client wellbeing and long-term stability
  • Promote independent living skills, including budgeting and daily routines
  • Exercise sound judgment when escalating matters to specialist services
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualifications in Mental Health, Social Work, or Community Services (highly regarded)
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness
  • Strong understanding of complex needs and effective interventions
  • Proven experience in case management, particularly with high-needs or vulnerable populations
