Behaviour Support Specialist Role

This Behaviour Support Specialist role is a key position in our multidisciplinary team. As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will play a vital part in empowering individuals to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Client Assessment and Planning: Assisting NDIS participants, their families, and carers in identifying their needs through assessment and person-centred planning.
  2. Evidence-Based Support Plans: Evaluating, developing, and delivering evidence-based support plans within complex support spaces.
  3. Positive Behaviour Support Framework: Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies using a positive behaviour support framework, committed to eliminating restrictive practices in the home and community.
  4. Individualised Plans: Ensuring individual plans reflect our participants' goals, passions, and strengths, while ensuring they get more out of life.
  5. Capacity Building: Building the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants in their lives, including family, carers, friends, etc.
  6. Advocacy and Role Modelling: Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice.
  7. Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

To be considered suitable for this role, you will need:

  • Current suitability confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at the Core or provisional level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • A degree-level qualification as an allied health professional.
  • Report writing experience.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • A proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas.
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector.
