Fin Design + Effects, a renowned studio in the APAC region, is seeking a highly skilled mid-level Rigger to join their team in Sydney or on the Gold Coast.

About Fin Design + Effects

We are an award-winning design and VFX house established in 2001. Our work spans from high-end commercials to blockbuster feature films and TV series.

We're looking for someone who can create realistic rigs for creatures and objects, build and maintain rigs using internal tools, and collaborate with the team to develop an internal rigging framework.

Job Description

This role involves creating complex character rigs, assisting in the creation of new rigs and components, and collaborating with Lead TDs and Animators to develop and integrate tools into our pipeline.

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects, from film and TV to commercials and shorts, and contribute to the development of our rigging framework.

Requirements
  • Three or more years of experience as a CG Rigger;
  • Strong knowledge of Rigging bases (Hierarchies, Connections, Constraints, Deformers...)
  • Good skinning deformations management with Standard Maya tools or NGSkinTools;
  • Extensive knowledge of creature anatomy and a keen eye for mechanical details;
  • Demonstrated ability to rig characters and objects in a realistic manner;
  • The ability to create small animations as required;
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for Maya;
  • Ability to manage time and balance priorities in a task-driven environment;
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with the team;
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of AU$80,000 - AU$120,000 per year, depending on experience.
