Flying Bark Productions is a renowned independent producer of family-focused animation entertainment, offering a unique opportunity for a talented CG FX Specialist to join our team.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Visual Effects Artist to participate in the creation of high-quality FX under the direction of the CG FX Supervisor and the CG Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a developed aesthetic sense, with expertise in creating setups and propagating simulations such as fire, smoke, water, particles, etc., in shots.

The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing these FX according to the internal technical workflow and artistic vision established on the project. This role requires excellent knowledge of Houdini, Katana, and Arnold, with knowledge of Maya and Nuke being an advantage.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Mid/Senior level candidates with production experience in CG animated features/animated episodic (5+ years);
  • Portfolios with mature, graphic stylization of reality preferred;
  • Demo Reel focused on FX in CG animated films/animated episodic;
  • Excellent knowledge of Houdini, Katana, and Arnold, with knowledge of Maya and Nuke an advantage;
  • Efficiently execute lookdev and high-quality 3D effects, including a full range of customary CG effects such as particles, fluids, and destruction;
  • Assist in setting up or maintaining the library of effects presets that can be loaded and applied to multiple shots;
  • Generate compatible caches to export into various software, rendering the effects in show-compatible image format elements as needed;
  • Assist with training and provide ongoing support for junior crew members if required.
