Job Summary:

ILM is currently hiring talented artists to create photo-real environments and landscapes for film and television productions. As a Generalist, you will work with live-action footage, digital still photography, and computer-generated imagery to create seamless environments.

We are looking for artists with a strong foundation in photo-realistic, traditional, and digital art skills, with an emphasis on landscapes. Experience with software such as Houdini, 3ds Max, Maya, and V-Ray is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use artistic and technical skills to work on all aspects of CG images or shots
  • Create high-quality computer graphics within a shot using a variety of software programs
  • Participate as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions and provide feedback to other members of the production
  • Mentor junior artists and assist them with their shots
  • Work to meet defined milestones within a timeline
  • Source suitable reference materials for required assets
  • Attend dailies and participate in creative problem-solving

Requirements:

  • Proven ability in one or more CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, or compositing
  • High level of problem-solving or creative thinking skills
  • Fluent in Houdini, 3ds Max, Maya, or similar software
  • Comparable software experience considered
  • Degree or 3-5 years relevant experience in Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, Design, or Photography
