Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Manager to join our team based in South Brisbane. The successful candidate will have a strong background in legal compliance and major litigation, offering a fantastic opportunity to grow their career and expand their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead global compliance efforts, including developing training programs and ensuring adherence to legislative and licensing requirements.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive policy framework in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage contract limits and maintain an up-to-date suite of contracts for commercial transactions.
- Collaborate with Heads of Legal and Commercial from different regions and engage with industry bodies.
- Draft statutory reports and work with the ESG team on Sustainability Reports.
- Deliver Code of Conduct and Commercial Contracts training.
- Handle major legacy litigation matters and manage intellectual property.
- Mentor and develop team members.

Requirements:

- Formal education in Law and admission to legal practice.
- A current practicing certificate is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of contracts management and/or legal experience in a commercial setting.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the business.
- Strong contract and legal drafting skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to adapt to change and manage competing priorities.
- Experience in the resources industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft systems including Sites, PowerPoint, and Excel.
