Speech Pathologist Opportunity

Healthscope is seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to patients on various wards, including ICU, CCU, surgical, rehabilitation, and oncology.
  • Assess and manage dysphagia in patients with head and neck cancer or tracheostomy.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of Functional Independent Measure (FIM) assessments.
  • Participate in case conferences and progress meetings with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives within the Allied Health Department.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care and support.
  • Develop and implement effective discharge plans and referrals to external services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous clinical experience in adult Speech Pathology in an acute hospital setting.
  • Eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and positive approach to work.
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and work independently.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop skills.
  • FIM accreditation.
