
Leading Midwifery Team

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to take on the role of Midwifery Unit Leader. This is a temporary full-time position that will provide an opportunity for you to lead and manage a team of midwives in a tertiary healthcare setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operational management and leadership of midwifery/nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient-centered care. They will also be expected to manage patient services, ward or unit management, and staff management.
This role is ideal for those who have proven clinical management and leadership experience in a healthcare facility, as well as relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent work experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational management and leadership of midwifery/nursing staff
- Providing high-quality patient-centered care
- Managing patient services, ward or unit management, and staff management
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proven clinical management and leadership experience in a tertiary healthcare facility
- Holds or working towards relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent work experience
- Experience in rostering, managing skill mix, and care delivery models according to patient/service need
- Proficient problem-solving skills and experience in performance management
- Advanced communication and negotiation skills and experience in conflict resolution
- Experience in quality and change management promoting clinical excellence
