Culturally Responsive Family Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Family Practitioner or Senior Aboriginal Family Practitioner.
This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact within Aboriginal families and communities through the provision of culturally respectful support. Our team prioritizes collaboration with families, community services, and agencies to deliver inclusive support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culturally Sensitive Practice: Provide culturally appropriate and respectful practices when working with Aboriginal families.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Lead collaboration with families, community services, and agencies to deliver inclusive support.
- Child Protection: Support the protection of Aboriginal children by responding to abuse concerns and managing risks effectively.
- Evaluation and Case Management: Lead ongoing evaluation, oversight, and flexible management of cases to address the changing needs of families.
- Family Engagement: Facilitate respectful consultation processes that encourage family participation and decision-making.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Cultural Competence: Experience in understanding the diversity of issues affecting Aboriginal people while applying culturally sensitive and inclusive practices.
- Relationship Building: Proficiency in maintaining strong working relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal communities, government, and non-government agencies.
- Risk Management: Expertise in identifying potential risks and implementing effective action plans to manage and minimize those risks.
- Communication: Knowledge in communicating effectively across diverse professional backgrounds to deliver professional services.
