The Aboriginal Liaison Officer is a crucial role in providing support and assistance to Aboriginal patients and their families in hospital settings.

The successful candidate will work effectively with hospital staff, local Aboriginal Medical Services, and community-based services to ensure that the health, psychosocial, and cultural needs of Aboriginal patients are taken into account when care is being provided.

This position requires a strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal people and an ability to provide culturally responsive care.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering health services to Aboriginal clients and families, and will be able to outline their connection to community and how this connection/knowledge will inform the way they work with community in this role.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal communities and service providers to ensure effective transfer of care arrangements for Aboriginal patients.

Requirements:

Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with Aboriginal communities or providing health services to Aboriginal clients.

Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a high level of cultural awareness.

Qualifications: Degree in a relevant field such as nursing, social work, or Indigenous studies.
