As a Home Education Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Home Education Unit and implement principles of best practice regulation for home education students in Queensland. You will exercise original thinking, creativity and significant levels of independent judgement to plan, organise, direct and determine goals and priorities for regulation of home education registrations.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team responsible for regulating home education registrations in Queensland.
  • Undertaking, monitoring and reviewing complex regulatory activities, making recommendations and decisions relevant to home education.
  • Developing and implementing operational policy, procedure and process initiatives to improve regulatory decision-making practice.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative solutions to achieve high performance regulatory outcomes.
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supporting productive team collaboration.

You will also provide expert advice to support senior officers, the Minister, Director-General and other stakeholders, and oversee responses to Parliamentary Questions and cabinet documents.

Key Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing teams and projects.
