About the role

The BUSY School is actively seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Teacher\u2019s Aide. This casual role will provide support to Teachers in maximising learning outcomes for young people who require significant adjustments and interventions to their learning program.

This role is based at our Shailer Park campus and involves working school term weeks on days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 - 3:00 pm (5 hours per day with a 30 minute break).

About The BUSY School...

The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 45 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, NDIS, disability employment support, and allied health services.

The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 9 campuses across Cairns, Brisbane, and Gold Coast/Coolangatta, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.

Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

Our teams' focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student\u2019s graduation from Year 12.

About you...

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse groups (i.e. students, parents, employers, school personnel, training providers and government departments)
  • Previous experience in a similar role within youth support services and/or education sector
  • Analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research
