We are seeking an experienced and passionate Leading Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team at YMCA Brisbane Shailer Park Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of the education program, ensuring a high-quality care environment for children aged 0-12 years.
  • This is a permanent, part-time position, working closely with the Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator to design and deliver engaging programs that promote children's well-being, development, and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement educational programs aligned with the National Quality Framework 'My Time Our Place' and Wooloowin State School's educational principles.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Mentor and support educators in understanding the educational program and practices, including reflective practice and intentional teaching strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records and reports as required.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education and Care settings.
  • Sound knowledge of child development, attachment, learning, and evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification, and willingness to obtain a Blue Card.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $$85,000-$95,000, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including career coaching, discounts for Y services, and free gym membership.
