Seeking a Bushfire Management Specialist to join our team at NRM jobs in Ku-ring-gai, NSW. As a key member of our environmental department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures to enhance bushfire risk management programs.

About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to the review and enhancement of the Bushfire Risk Management Plan, represent the Council on various committees and working groups, and provide training on bushfire planning and management.

  • Develop and implement bushfire risk management strategies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Represent the Council on various committees and working groups related to bushfire management.
  • Provide training and education to stakeholders on bushfire planning and management practices.
  • Liaise with community stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and emergency services to ensure effective communication and coordination.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with a Diploma in Environmental or Bushfire Management, certifications in Public Safety, burn plan development, and chainsaw operation, and extensive experience in bushfire firefighting and hazard reduction burning.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in GIS software, MS Office suite, and the NSW Rural Fire Service Guardian application, as well as a current Class C Drivers licence. If you are passionate about environmental conservation and bushfire management, we encourage you to apply.
