
Public Relations Manager

The Communications Director role is a senior leadership position responsible for managing the Association's public positioning, internal member and external media communications. This involves developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance the Association's reputation and influence.
This includes leading campaigns, managing quarterly events, and building key relationships with stakeholders. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience in natural resources, agriculture, and/or forestry.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in communications disciplines.
- At least five years' experience working in communications, preferably in government or political offices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability and right to work full-time in Australia.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior staff. They will also have a deep understanding of the importance of effective communication in achieving organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage external and media communications, including social media and liaison with industry targeted, regional and national media.
- Work with senior staff to identify and execute opportunities to amplify the Association's activities.
- Produce timely internal member communications, including updates, announcements and EDMs.
- Manage quarterly member events, including logistics and budget.
- Develop and execute Association-wide campaigns, including election campaigns.
- Direct the development of corporate and promotional documents, including the Annual Report.
- Manage the AFPA website and content.
