Geriatric Medicine Registrar Opportunity

This position is a unique chance for advanced trainees to gain clinical experience in innovative geriatric services. The role is located in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and involves working at three hospitals: Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham.

The team prioritizes education and training, providing a supportive environment that allows each registrar to develop individually tailored programs suited to their needs.

The hospital is affiliated with Monash University and the South Eastern Training Alliance in the Victorian Geriatric Medicine Training Program. This offers registrars a broad range of experiences, including extensive supervision by full-time and VMO physicians in Geriatric Medicine.

This is a maternity leave cover opportunity, commencing in 2025 and ending in 2026. We welcome applications from junior doctors with acceptable clinical experience who are not yet advanced trainees in geriatric medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
  • To develop and maintain skills in geriatric medicine through education and training
  • To contribute to the development of individualized programs for registrars

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in medicine or equivalent qualification
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Acceptable clinical experience in geriatric medicine
