Senior Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team. As a key member of the payroll department, you will be responsible for managing national payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process multiple payrolls across various frequencies, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Interpret enterprise agreements, awards, and company policies to ensure correct employee payments.
- Maintain accurate records of pay transactions, leave balances, staff movements, and WorkCover payments.
- Perform complex payroll calculations including leave accruals, superannuation, redundancy, and tax.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including processing back payments when required.
- Support compliance and reporting requirements, including headcount, staff movement, leave liability, and FBT reports.
- Assist with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a standalone or senior payroll role, ideally within a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and payroll system management.
- A strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and award interpretation.
- High attention to detail, excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience using MicrOpay is highly desirable.
