Grid Operations Manager

The role of the Grid Operations Manager is pivotal in overseeing large, intricate projects that ensure grid stability.

This involves leading multidisciplinary teams to guarantee that all engineering activities are executed within the project timeline and budget.

  • Responsible for ensuring that design, engineering, and technical changes comply with project-specific requirements and local regulations.
  • Lead communication with customers, authorities, and sub-vendors on project technical specifications, engineering, and design modifications.
  • Ensure the safe constructability aspect of the project and the secure operation and maintenance of the plant during engineering and detailed design.
  • Manage interfaces and integration between equipment and systems within the scope of the project.
  • Guarantee that all engineering tasks are performed according to the project schedule and meet cost expectations.
  • Delineate and allocate scope of work, assign ownership and responsibility of specific equipment and tasks.
  • Oversee internal and external technical resources, provide necessary guidance on the execution and resolution of technical issues.
  • Develop a technical plan, select suitable solutions, offer assistance for implementation, and resolve conflicts.
  • Participate in and offer technical mentorship during the monitoring of actual progress of major project achievements, address any project issues and challenges.
  • Support and advocate for new technical improvements, prepare necessary detailed technical reports and presentations.

This role offers opportunities to work on innovative projects, lead diverse teams, and collaborate with international stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least five years of solid experience in complex EPC/turnkey Power Plant projects, and relevant certifications such as RPEQ or CPEng.
