Electrical Engineer - Grid Connection Specialist">

Join a dynamic team of professionals in the field of electrical engineering and contribute to the design and delivery of renewable power projects across Australia.

As an Electrical Engineer - Grid Connection Specialist, you will lead the electrical design and delivery of renewable power projects, ensuring compliance with AS/IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards.

This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, grid connection studies, load flow assessment, and generator performance standards. You will be responsible for managing HV/MV/LV system design, overseeing contractors, and coordinating with suppliers for optimal equipment selection.

Key responsibilities include executing due diligence, feasibility studies, design for grid connection, and detailed design, as well as preparing technical specifications for high voltage/medium voltage/low voltage systems.

Additionally, you will ensure the review and approval of technical documents issued by external design contractors and/or consultants, and manage third-party engineers or external design services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years or more of experience in design and construction of power plants, substations
  • Experience working on multiple projects across Australia that contain large-scale renewable energy generation (Solar Farms, Wind Farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems etc.)
  • Experience performing design activities with other members of multi-disciplined project teams
  • Preferred experience using design tools such as DigSILENT, ETAP, CYMCAP or similar
