This role gives you the chance to shape the grid strategy for one of the fastest-growing renewable portfolios in Australia and New Zealand. You will have the visibility, support and resources to make an immediate impact while building a career profile that opens doors across the energy industry. You will be empowered to lead, negotiate and deliver connections that directly unlock solar and storage projects. The client is open to Grid Engineers who are looking for career opportunities to grow into a Grid Connection Manager.
Base pay rangeA$180,000.00/yr - A$224,000.00/yr
What the job does for youThis role helps you shape the grid strategy for a major renewable portfolio with opportunities for leadership and impact across the energy sector.
About the roleYou will report to the Head of Connections for Australia and work closely with project managers, engineers, OEMs, independent consultants, AEMO and the networks. Your work will help ensure projects connect on time, within budget and to high standards.
Duties- Lead and progress generator connection applications with DNSPs, TNSPs and AEMO
- Negotiate technical, legal and commercial terms of connection agreements
- Build and manage standard procedures for capacity checks, applications and audits
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian networks at both DNSP and TNSP levels
- Deep knowledge of AEMO requirements and processes
- Track record in negotiating connection contracts
- Experience across design, construction, commissioning and operations of PV or BESS
- Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering or equivalent qualifications with relevant experience
- Work on some of the largest renewable energy projects in Australia
- Flexible working with support for travel to sites and stakeholders
- Career progression in a high-growth renewable energy business
