Job Title: Control Assurance ExpertiseAbout the Role:

This position involves delivering control testing and assurance activities for operational risks and compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver control testing and assurance activities for operational risks and compliance obligations using a data-driven approach.
  • Identify and coordinate opportunities to automate controls, enhancing the overall control environment.
  • Recognize control gaps and provide recommendations to strengthen the control environment.
  • Cultivate relationships with risk and compliance teams to ensure understanding of risk accountabilities and uplift knowledge of the control environment.
Daily Tasks:
  • Prioritize and manage automation opportunities and efficiencies to enhance the control environment.
  • Manage relationships and training to support control owners in understanding their risk accountabilities and elevate knowledge of the control environment.
  • Improve control design to optimize customer experience.
  • Coach and drive capability uplift across risk and compliance teams.
  • Ensure control testing and assurance align with internal policies, frameworks, and standards, regulatory requirements, and reasonable steps.
  • Conduct control testing according to the bank's control testing schedule.
Requirements:
  • Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to understand control objectives before testing.
  • Execute control test plans and assurance activities for operational risk and compliance obligations.
  • Develop cost-effective strategies to improve the control environment.
  • Negotiate and agree on control uplift opportunities with control owners.
  • Advise on new control development during risk profiling exercises and other change initiatives.
  • Coordinate the annual control test schedule and sign-offs.
  • Utilize a data-driven approach to prepare management reports.
  • Maintain test plans and outcomes within the group reporting tool.
  • Provide expertise and coaching to risk and compliance teams.
  • Implement a data-driven approach to test shared and centralized controls.
