Leading Chef for a Seasonal Tasmanian Resort

The position is located in the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, offering a unique and serene work environment. As a leading chef at our resort, you will be responsible for planning and executing menus that showcase fresh seasonal produce.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced chef who can lead by example in safe food handling, kitchen hygiene, and cleanliness. Your duties will include:

  • Planning and preparing menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Sourcing and purchasing high-quality ingredients
  • Regulating cooking equipment temperatures to ensure optimal results
  • Preparing and cooking food to order
  • Seasoning during cooking to enhance flavors
  • Portioning food accurately to meet customer needs
  • Plating dishes attractively to increase customer satisfaction
  • Adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes to enhance presentation and flavor

In addition to your culinary skills, you will also be required to assist with other tasks as needed, such as maintenance and upkeep of the resort's facilities. You will be working in a small seasonal team, so adaptability and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges are essential.
