Job Overview

As a Senior Transport Network Development Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering end-to-end supply chain solutions for 1,300+ food and retail customers.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for strategic planning and optimisation of the transport network to enhance supply chain efficiencies for Primary Connect and its customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and foster relationships with transport carrier and network partners, focusing on safety, teamwork, and value creation opportunities.
  • Deliver sustainable competitive advantage by working with carriers to develop optimised network and transport solutions improving supply chain efficiencies and costs for customers.
  • Manage network changes and operational impacts, such as new DCs or ranging changes affecting carriers and corridor flows.
  • Create an engagement model for new carriers based on needs identified in the development pipeline.
  • Position Primary Connect as a knowledge-based, technology-driven supply chain solutions provider for current and future customers and carrier partners.
  • Collaborate with Business Development & Account Management teams for network development opportunities supporting existing and new customers.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in senior transport or supply chain roles, preferably in FMCG, Retail, or 3PL organisations.
  • Advanced technical transport knowledge including legislation, equipment design, network flows, pricing, and costing methodologies (Road & Rail).
  • Success in relationship management and stakeholder engagement, collaborating and aligning multiple stakeholders on plans.
  • High influencing and negotiation skills to achieve best possible outcomes.
