Senior Generalist HR Lead

About the Role
The Australian Academy of Science is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead the delivery of people strategies and operational advice to our Senior Management Team.
As the Head of Human Resources and Culture, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational human resource advice and support to our leaders and employees.
You will implement, manage, and regularly review the Academy's people framework, including workforce planning, recruitment, remuneration, payroll, induction, probation, performance management, termination, grievances, learning and development, leave, and employee retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Academy's People & Culture function, ensuring alignment with our values and strategic plan.
- Provide high-level advice on the development of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy and operationalise the strategy into plans and programs.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state workplace legislation requirements.
- Maintain a no-tolerance position against bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, and discrimination.
Requirements
- Proven senior-level experience in generalist HR roles with the ability to work effectively at both a strategic and operational level.
- Demonstrated experience, capability, and commitment to improving workplace diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Strong people leadership experience and capability.
