Coal Quality Analyst

We assess and rank coal products based on their physical handling, blend propensity, and performance characteristics to provide an accurate picture of their marketability and value-in-use.
About the PositionWe are seeking a Casual Coal Quality Tester to join our team in the Physical Testing Laboratory at our Mackay site. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of our PTL Supervisors and be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with National and International standards.
- Validate results to ensure they are within repeatability tolerances.
- Enter validated results into the reporting system.
- Maintain the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards.
- Make recommendations on ways to improve the efficiency and accuracy of sample analysis.
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Prior experience in a coal testing environment is desirable but not necessary.
- Good grasp of computers and technology, including spreadsheets.
- Comfortable with manual handling duties.
- Ability to work to a flexible roster.
- Valid Driver's License.
