We are seeking a skilled Coal Quality Tester to join our team at our Mackay site. As a Coal Quality Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of coal products by conducting analytical tests and providing accurate results.
About the PositionThis is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory technician or someone looking to transition into a laboratory role. You will work closely with our Analytical Laboratory Supervisor to ensure that all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct analytical tests, including Proximate Analysis, Crucible Swell Number, ICP, XRF Total Sulphur, Calorific Value, and trace analysis.
- Enter validated results into our reporting system.
- Maintain the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards.
- Make recommendations on ways to improve the efficiency and accuracy of sample analysis.
- Work early mornings and afternoon shifts.
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good grasp of computers/technology, including spreadsheets.
- Comfortable with manual handling duties.
- Ability to work to a flexible roster.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Competent within a strong safety culture.
