About the PositionWe are seeking a skilled Coal Quality Tester to join our team at our Mackay site. As a Coal Quality Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all results are accurate and reliable.
Key Responsibilities- Ensuring Quality and Safety: Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with National and International standards, and that all results are within repeatability tolerances.
- Validating Results: Check and validate all results to ensure that they are accurate and reliable.
- Entering Results: Enter validated results into our reporting system.
- Maintaining Laboratory Equipment: Maintain the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards.
- Improving Efficiency: Make recommendations on ways of improving the efficiency and accuracy of sample analysis.
- Performing Analytical Tests: Conduct a range of analytical tests, including Sapozhnikov, Hard Grove Index, Dilatation, Total Moisture, G Index, and Gieseler Fluidity testing.
- Performing Physical Tests: Conduct a range of physical tests, including sample preparation, crushing, dividing, and sample storage.
- Strong Focus on Safety and Quality: A strong focus on safety and quality is essential for this role.
- Strong Numeracy and Literacy Skills: Strong numeracy and literacy skills are required for this role.
- Prior Experience in Coal Testing: Prior experience in a coal testing environment is desirable, but not necessary.
- Good Computer Skills: Good computer skills, including spreadsheets, are required for this role.
- Manual Handling: Comfortable with manual handling duties.
- Flexible Roster: Ability to work to a flexible roster.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid Driver's License is required.
- Strong Safety Culture: Competent within a strong safety culture.
