- Total Moisture Testing
- Physical Testing, including sample preparation, crushing, dividing, and sample storage
About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Coal Quality Specialist to join our team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions
- Ensuring that all work complies with National and International standards
- Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances
- Entering validated results into the reporting system
- Maintaining the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards
- Making recommendations on ways of improving the efficiency and accuracy of sample analysis
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Prior experience in a coal testing environment is desirable
- Good grasp of computers/technology, including spreadsheets
- Comfortable with manual handling duties
- Ability to work to a flexible roster and willingness to work 12-hour day, day or night shifts
- Valid Driver's License
- Competent within a strong safety culture
