Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for estimating building reinstatement works, utilizing your trade knowledge to create sales opportunities, and working closely with supervisors to achieve set budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Attend sites to estimate building reinstatement works.
  2. Utilize your trade knowledge to create sales opportunities for the business.
  3. Interpret scope of works provided by consultants.
  4. Write scope of works documents when required.
  5. Work in conjunction with supervisors to achieve set budgets.
  6. Build new and leverage existing relationships with key personnel in the insurance industry.
  7. Liaise with clients and insurers.
  8. Coordinate access to properties with insured parties.
  9. Liaise with and engage sub-contractors during quotation stage.
  10. Ensure all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements.
  11. Ensure all inspections, certificates, and relevant documentation is signed off.

Requirements:

  • Carpentry/Building Trade or Construction Qualification.
  • Estimating or Insurance building background ideal, however not essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel, Project, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and be empathetic to the needs of the client.
  • Dispute resolution skills.
  • Positive attitude and sound work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with OHS practices, legislations, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with current market rates and trades.
  • Current and valid motor vehicle license.

Please note: The successful candidate must have the right to work in Australia and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination and a criminal background check where required. The successful candidate will also be required to complete 1 week of training from our Doncaster Head Office.
