Job Overview

Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Dedicated Engine Technician to join our team in the Gunnedah Basin region, where over 170 Cummins High Horsepower engines power various mining equipment.

This role involves being the first responder to breakdown events, fleet maintenance, capturing engine data, fault diagnostics, and diverse range engine repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Fleet service experience preferred with heavy-duty engine expertise
  • Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Diesel preferred but not necessary)
  • Strong engine diagnostic skills
  • Able to work autonomously and remotely for extended periods
  • Genuine commitment to workplace safety
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 per annum, along with additional benefits, including a valid driver's license allowance, and a comprehensive training program to enhance your skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Apprentice-trained engine technician (preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • Licensing requirements may apply for export controls or sanctions regulations compliance
  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Customer service experience
