As a Tertiary Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our preservice teachers by providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship throughout their professional experience placements.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor preservice teachers throughout their Professional Experience placement, providing regular feedback and support.
- Observe and assess preservice teachers' teaching practices, using the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers as a framework.
- Liaise with supervising teachers and other school/centre staff to ensure a smooth and effective placement experience.
- Act as an independent advocate for preservice teachers, providing objective support and guidance throughout the placement.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education and have a strong commitment to supporting the development of our preservice teachers. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with preservice teachers, supervising teachers, and other stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
- A commitment to the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University and the ability to work in a values-based environment.
