Job Title: Project Superintendant

We are seeking an experienced Construction Works Supervisor to join our team on an initial 6-month contract in our Kwinana office.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Construction Contractors activities, delivering assets in accordance with our client's Policies, Standards and Contracts. This includes the superintendence, co-ordination and monitoring of on-site Construction Contractors, facilitating contractor delivery to plan and ensuring construction compliance with designs, specifications and industry best practice and Australian WHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construction Contractor performance monitoring and reporting, focusing on safety, scope management, variation and quality control, testing, inspection, and acceptance of works and completed facilities by construction contractors across a 24/7 construction program.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager and the Project Superintendent with the management of the Principal contractor project specific Plans, Procedures, Works Permitting, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) / Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA).
  • Other control methods to ensure scoped work is delivered in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
  • The Construction Works Supervisor works within the Asset, Development and Delivery team and reports to both Project Superintendent and Senior Project Manager (Inner Harbour) to ensure a safe project, reviewing, monitoring and providing on ground assurance for the implementation of the Construction Contractors Project Management Plans, Quality Management Plan and Health, Safety & Environmental Management Plan supporting the Superintendent Representative.
  • The successful candidate will work within the team providing advice and assistance to the relevant Project Managers, Project Superintendents, and the Principal Construction Contractor engaged by the client.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary or Trade Qualifications related to construction, projects or engineering discipline (desirable).
  • Coordination and supervisory skills with experience managing construction environment.
  • Well-developed knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations and demonstrated ability to implement and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Experience in Project Management or Construction (desirable).
  • Technical, Professional and Specialist Skills
  • Knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations relating to construction and contract management.
  • Knowledge of port operations and projects.
  • Good written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Construction experience with civil, structural and electrical construction works.
