Key Responsibilities

  • Provision of social work services to patients, families, and carers.

  • Exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, seeking guidance from senior staff members when required.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, standards, and practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in discharge planning, NDIS, child protection, domestic violence, grief, and bereavement.

  • Understanding of issues associated with working with culturally and linguistically diverse client groups.

  • Well-developed time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and report writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Knowledge of quality assurance and clinical practice improvement activities.

  • Ability to participate in the After-Hours Crisis On-Call Social Work Service.
