Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forensic Medicine Social Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional evidence-based information and support services associated with the Forensic Medicine Social Work role outlined in the Model of Care document.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to individuals and families affected by death and trauma. Your expertise and experience in crisis intervention, clinical assessment/case management, and embedded/situational counseling will be essential in supporting our clients during their most challenging moments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional evidence-based information and support services associated with the Forensic Medicine Social Work role
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to individuals and families affected by death and trauma
  • Deliver crisis intervention, clinical assessment/case management, and embedded/situational counseling services
  • Exercise independent professional judgment and advocate for clients in complex or critical situations
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience with extensive specialist knowledge in crisis intervention, clinical assessment/case management
  • Extensive knowledge and recent hospital-based experience in the provision of embedded/situational counseling and support in grief, loss, and trauma
  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgment and advocate for clients in complex or critical situations
