Job Title:

Financial Operations Manager

Job Summary:

This role contributes to the financial sustainability of an organization by providing operational leadership, oversight and management of patient revenue across various departments. The Financial Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the revenue-raising via patient billing.

About the Role:

The Financial Services Department provides a wide range of financial and related services to all areas of the organization. Financial Services include financial accounting and compliance, finance business partnering (inc management accounting), financial analysis, decision support and transactional services (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Revenue Services (Billing and Patient Billing Liaison)).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational leadership, oversight and management of patient revenue across various departments.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the revenue-raising via patient billing.
  • Lead a professional team, with a customer focus and process improvement mindset.
  • Create a positive workplace environment and culture within which financial services staff can flourish, innovate, develop and contribute to the financial sustainability of the organization.
  • Provide expert financial management advice with a commitment to deliver outcomes within strict timelines.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive team management experience.
  • Leadership experience in a highly complex transactional environment, managing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist the team to meet performance indicators and take responsibility for completing individual work tasks.
  • Extensive applied knowledge of Commonwealth and State legislative and policy framework relating to funding of healthcare in Australia.
  • Experience translating organisational vision and strategy into operational plans and goals including effective performance indicators and accountability for results.
  • Successful record of identifying system blockages or revenue opportunities and developing and implementing appropriate strategies to address or capitalise on them.
