Job Overview:

Health and Safety Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing health and safety protocols across the organisation, providing expert advice on complex health issues and workers compensation claims.

This role will involve developing and implementing business strategies to manage psychosocial risks in the workplace, driving the implementation of health and fitness for work systems that meet legislative requirements and business needs.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in health and injury management, with a detailed knowledge of Health, Compensation and Injury Management Acts, legislations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain health and safety protocols that meet legislative requirements and business needs.
  • Provide expert advice on complex health issues and workers compensation claims.
  • Drive the implementation of health and fitness for work systems that meet legislative requirements and business needs.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to manage psychosocial risks in the workplace.
  • Evaluate trends, provide analysis of all soft tissues injuries across the site(s), and develop action plans to mitigate risk.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, exercise Physiology or other relevant medical services field.
  • Extensive experience in health and injury management, desirably in Mining or closely related industry.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health, Compensation and Injury Management Acts, legislations and standards.
  • Demonstrated exposure to complex workers compensation claim management.
  • Experience conducting work aligned to the management of Psychosocial risks.
