Qube Bulk, a leading provider of mine to market and mine resupply solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Logistics Operations Manager to oversee the management, planning, and development of our Mining Logistics Operations in Brisbane.

Company Overview:

Qube Bulk offers complete mine to market and mine resupply solutions, handling over 85 million tonnes per annum of various bulk ores, concentrates, mineral sands, salt, coal, and dangerous goods. We prioritize safety initiatives and innovation through advanced In-Vehicle Management Systems (IVMS), fleet monitoring, supply chain management technology, and equipment performance-based standards engineering.

Estimated Salary:

A competitive salary with allowances is on offer for this position, commensurate with experience and industry standards.

Job Description:

The Senior Mining Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of health, safety, and environmental obligations and requirements, as well as managing customer, quality assurance, and documentation and procedural requirements. They will also develop, implement, and execute the Regional Business Plan, provide effective leadership and development opportunities to line managers and superintendents, and manage the operating cost performance of the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the compliance of health, safety, and environmental obligations and requirements
  • Develop, implement, and execute the Regional Business Plan
  • Provide effective leadership and development opportunities to line managers and superintendents
  • Manage the operating cost performance of the region
  • Liaise professionally with customers, regulatory authorities, and suppliers to promote Qube Bulk in a positive way
  • Provision of timely and accurate data input and reporting to the General Manager on the region's operational performance and business development

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of the Mining Logistics, trucking/bulk haulage/port sector, with an in-depth knowledge of mobile fleet and associated equipment. They should possess operations management experience in logistics/transport/mining services industry, with a track record of managing a business unit of similar scale, setting and delivering a budget, leading a similar-size team, negotiating an employee agreement, managing an operation safely.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of the Mining Logistics, trucking/bulk haulage/port sector
  • Operations management experience in logistics/transport/mining services industry
  • Track record managing a business unit of similar scale
  • Commercial and contract management
  • Budget and business P&L accountability
  • Prior Exposure to safety culture in resources/oil & gas & Logistics sectors

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Business, Logistics, or related area, equivalent or greater
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
