Job Description

The Regional Manager will be responsible for managing, planning, and developing Qube Bulk's Mining Logistics Operations within their assigned region to meet established objectives, particularly in areas of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), Operations, and Finance.

The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental obligations, as well as customer, quality assurance, and documentation requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and executing the Regional Business Plan
  • Providing effective leadership and development opportunities to line managers and superintendents
  • Managing operating cost performance, including budget development and achievement of agreed performance targets
  • Liaising professionally with customers, regulatory authorities, and suppliers to promote Qube Bulk positively
  • Providing timely and accurate data input and reporting to the General Manager on regional operational performance and business development

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Broad knowledge of the mining logistics, trucking, bulk haulage, and port sectors, with in-depth understanding of mobile fleet and associated equipment
  • Operations management experience in logistics, transport, or mining services industries
  • Proven track record of managing a business unit of similar scale, setting and delivering budgets, leading teams, negotiating employee agreements, and managing operations safely
  • Commercial and contract management expertise
  • Budget and business P&L accountability
  • Prior exposure to safety cultures in resources, oil & gas, and logistics sectors
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing and developing employees, preferably in ports, mining, logistics, or heavy industry environments
  • Diploma in Business, Logistics, or related fields, equivalent or greater
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
