About the Role

McConnell Dowell has an exciting opportunity for a talented Mechanical Supervisor to join our project team on the Groote Eylandt Wharf Remediation Project in the Northern Territory. This role plays a crucial part in the successful delivery of a critical project for our client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Emphasise the importance of safe work practices and environmental protection to all employees and subcontractors;
  • Identify, assess and control hazards in consultation with relevant employees;
  • Monitor and review the performance of plant, labour and subcontractors to ensure production targets are met or bettered;
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with specifications, codes and standards that form part of the contract.
About You:
  • A trades qualification relevant to the construction or building industry is essential;
  • Experience with Marine projects is preferable;
  • A strong ability to lead, direct and manage diverse groups of employees;
  • A sound working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements and implementation;
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to engage others;
  • A commitment to the safety promise of 'Home Without Harm';
  • Valid working rights in Australia.
