Job Overview

As a skilled Information Governance Specialist, you will lead strategic initiatives to enhance the information management maturity of a federal agency.

  • Develop and implement projects to strengthen information management practices.
  • Maintain and optimize the Information Asset Register.
  • Provide expert advice on records keeping requirements, including cloud-based datasets.
  • Clinch roles and responsibilities for information governance across the organisation.
  • Review and update record security protocols.
  • Manage sentencing and disposal of records in line with the National Archives Act 1983.
  • Preserve system access controls and ensure compliance with reporting obligations.
  • Design training and communication materials to elevate staff capability.
  • Compose briefs, procurement documents, and policies related to records and information management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to corporate services activities.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in Information Management and records keeping.
  • Proficiency in TRIM / Content Manager.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with sound judgement and initiative.
