Cynosure Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Information Management Advisor with 5+ years' experience in lifting Information Management maturity within a business domain to enable the broader enterprise to seamlessly leverage critical information as the single source of truth.

The Directorate of Estate Information System Governance (DEISG) Information Management develops and promotes Security and Estate Group (SEG) wide information management and governance in alignment with Defence Data Strategy 2.0.

Estate Data Management (EDM) is the Defence team handling quality control, modelling, extraction, uploading, and analysis of Estate Master Data. The team provides guidance, training and support for users of the Estate Data Governance Application (EDGA). The governance toolkit includes the Estate Data Dictionary (EDD), Estate Register Information Model (ERIM) and Spatial Data Management Plan (SDMP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and implement a program of sequenced and prioritised business domain information management and governance activities to uplift information management governance and data literacy in business domain.
  • Design and embed data operating models for the business domain.
  • Information management governance / data strategy and planning development.
  • Brief the organisation at all levels on information governance and management concepts.
  • Advise Group Executive on information capability uplift.
  • Relate organisational direction and industry practice to the business domain context and planning.

About You

  • Deep practical data / information management and governance experience.
  • Experience with Data Division policy and guidance environment. Defence preferable.
  • Experience designing, planning and leading information governance and management team operating models and activities.
  • Ability to communicate core concepts to implementers, non-practitioners and executive.
  • Prepare high quality briefing materials, guidance documents.
  • Experience developing information management governance / data strategies.
  • Workshop design and facilitation.
  • Canberra-based, with the ability to obtain (or already holding) an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Mandatory Requirement

Due to the nature of the work, only Australian citizens eligible for a security clearance will be considered. Security clearance sponsorship is available for successful candidates.
