The Governance Advisor, within the Australian Climate Service is a strategic and influential role requiring a highly capable professional with the ability to research, analyse, and translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication is essential, particularly in preparing high-quality briefs and advice that can influence senior decision-making.

The ideal candidate must show evidence of effective stakeholder engagement, including the ability to build and sustain trusted relationships across government networks. Attributes should include adaptability, sound judgement, cultural competence, and resilience when working with sensitive material. The ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives, mentor colleagues, and manage governance processes is highly valued. A commitment to continuous learning and maintaining awareness of sector trends and best practice is important, as is the capacity to quickly understand and apply relevant legislative frameworks.
