Job Description:

The role of Policy Advisor to a Government Minister is a challenging and dynamic position that requires strong policy analysis and communication skills. The successful candidate will provide high-quality advice and support to the Minister on a range of policy issues, including those related to gender-based violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide well-researched and strategic policy advice to the Minister and senior government officials.
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across government, non-government organizations, and the community.
  • Liaise with government agencies and other stakeholders to gather information and develop policy options.
  • Assist in the development of policy initiatives by analyzing data and preparing reports, papers, and briefing notes.
  • Represent the Minister at meetings and events as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and development, preferably in the government sector.
  • Strong understanding of government processes and policies, particularly in the area of gender-based violence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, and to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Professional integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

Working Conditions:
