The RoleWe are seeking applications for a senior geotechnical engineer to join our team in Perth. The role will provide you with the opportunity to grow your career with a strong technical team around you, offering support and mentoring.
As a senior geotechnical engineer, you will be responsible for planning, design, and analysis activities to ensure a high standard of quality is achieved for assigned projects. You will provide technical input to project teams to ensure technical standards and efficiencies are achieved and that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise geotechnical site investigations, logging, mapping, and reporting.
- Compile field investigation data for input leading to creation of design parameters.
- Prepare geotechnical reports.
- Assess slope stability, foundation bearing capacities, and settlements.
- Assess soil liquefaction and seismic deformation.
- Design ground improvement.
- Prepare laboratory testing schedules.
- Numerical modeling and analysis using software such as Slope/W, Plaxis, and Flac.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A strong foundation and expertise in soil mechanics.
- Demonstrated experience in geotechnical investigation and analysis of foundations, embankments, and cut slopes.
- An understanding of technical aspects of geotechnical investigations, civil/geotechnical designs, documentation, and civil/geotechnical projects.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- A proven track record on-site project management and client liaison and able to demonstrate ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with use of Slope/W, Plaxis, Flac, and AutoCad software is advantageous.
- Commitment to travel interstate and internationally when required.
- A bachelor degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering. Post-graduate qualification is highly regarded.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience within the civil and mining industry.
