Job Description

The role of a Geotechnical Engineer is to apply geotechnical knowledge and skills to design, develop, and manage projects related to mining, heavy haul rail, and infrastructure.

This includes the preparation of geotechnical designs, technical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings. It also involves coordinating data entry, validation, and management within project databases, ensuring integrity and traceability.

Additionally, the candidate will assist in interpreting field and laboratory data to support the development of geotechnical models and design recommendations.

Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role as it requires close collaboration with senior engineers and other professionals.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant degree (Geology, Geoscience, Civil Engineering etc)
  • 2+ years experience working in a Geo role, ideally on mining, rail or infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to geotechnical data management packages, such as OpenGround, gINT, and GIS applications
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team-driven environment
  • Strong report writing and excellent communication skills
