Geotechnical engineering is a multidisciplinary field that applies the principles of geology, soil mechanics, and rock mechanics to solve complex problems related to construction projects. We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with strong technical skills to join our team in Perth.

The successful candidate will have expertise in soil mechanics, demonstrated experience in geotechnical investigation and analysis of foundations, embankments, and cut slopes, and an understanding of technical aspects of geotechnical investigations, civil/geotechnical designs, documentation, and civil/geotechnical projects. Excellent communication and reporting skills are essential for this role, as well as a proven track record of project management and client liaison.

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and analyzing activities to ensure high-quality standards are achieved for assigned projects. The engineer will also provide technical input to project teams to ensure technical standards and efficiencies are achieved and projects are completed within time constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise geotechnical site investigations, logging, mapping, and reporting.
  • Compile field investigation data for input into design parameters.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports.
  • Assess slope stability, foundation bearing capacities, and settlements.
  • Assess soil liquefaction and seismic deformation.
  • Design ground improvement.
  • Prepare laboratory testing schedules.
  • Numerical modeling and analysis using software such as Slope/W, Plaxis, and Flac.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in geotechnical or civil engineering.
  • Post-graduate qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience within the civil and mining industry.
